The optimum temperature for soybean is 20-30oC, with temperatures of 35oC and above considered inhibitory to production. The optimum soil temperature for germination and early seedling growth is 25 to 30oC. Soybeans can tolerate brief water logging but weathering of seed is a serious problem in the rainy season.
