    1. Increase Conditioning Time:

    Use a longer conditioner: Installing a conditioner with a longer retention time allows more thorough cooking and hydration of feed.

    Reduce feed flow rate: Slowing down the feed rate allows more time for steam penetration and conditioning.

    Install multiple conditioners: If one conditioner isn’t enough, adding a second conditioner (double conditioning) can improve time and quality.

    2. Reduce Conditioning Time:

    Increase feed flow rate: Raising the speed of feed entering the conditioner shortens retention time.

    Use higher steam pressure: Increasing steam pressure and temperature speeds up gelatinization and conditioning.

    Optimize paddle angle and speed: Adjusting paddle angles and rotation speed in the conditioner can change residence time.
