Clinical symptoms
acute and classical form. Lameness or paralysis around 12 weeks of age may be indicative of this disease. Acute form is manifested with sudden deaths due to formation of lymphomas in the visceral organs. Birds may show depression, anaemia, anorexia, emaciation and weight loss, diarrhoea, etc.

Poultry diseases can be caused by bacteria, viruses, fungi, parasites, or nutritional deficiencies. Below are common poultry diseases, their symptoms, and possible treatments:
1. Newcastle Disease (ND)
Cause: Virus
Symptoms:
Respiratory distress (coughing, gasping)
Nervous signs (twisted neck, paralysis)
Greenish diarrhea
Decreased egg production
Sudden death
Treatment: No specific treatment; prevention through vaccination is key. Provide supportive care.
2. Infectious Bursal Disease (IBD or Gumboro)
Cause: Virus
Symptoms:
Ruffled feathers
Watery diarrhea
Dehydration
Swollen bursa
Treatment: No specific treatment; prevent with vaccination and good biosecurity.
3. Marek’s Disease
Cause: Virus
Symptoms:
Paralysis (legs, wings, neck)
Weight loss
Tumors in organs
Treatment: No cure; vaccinate chicks at hatch.
4. Avian Influenza (Bird Flu)
Cause: Virus
Symptoms:
Swollen head
Respiratory distress
Decreased egg production
High mortality

5. Fowl Pox
Cause: Virus
Symptoms:
White nodules on comb, wattles, beak
Lesions inside the mouth
Decreased egg production
Treatment: No specific cure; vaccinate and provide supportive care.
