Newcastle disease can cause a variety of signs in both broilers and layers, including respiratory, digestive, and nervous signs.

Newcastle disease (ND) is a highly contagious viral disease that affects chickens, including both broilers and layers. The severity of symptoms depends on the strain of the virus, the age of the birds, and their immune status.
Signs of Newcastle Disease in Broilers and Layers
1. Respiratory Signs:
Gasping for air
Coughing and sneezing
Nasal discharge
Rales (abnormal breathing sounds)
2. Nervous Signs (Severe Cases):
Twisting of the neck (torticollis)
Paralysis of wings and legs
Loss of balance and circling
Tremors
3. Digestive Signs:
Greenish or watery diarrhea
Loss of appetite
Weight loss and poor growth (in broilers)
4. Drop in Egg Production (in Layers):
Sudden drop or complete halt in egg laying
Soft-shelled, misshapen, or discolored eggs
Watery egg whites
5. General Signs:
Depression and lethargy
Swollen head, especially around the eyes
Ruffled feathers
Sudden death (in severe cases)

2. Digestive Signs: Greenish or watery diarrhea, loss of appetite and weight loss.
3. Nervous Signs: Twisted neck, paralysis (wings, legs) e.t.c.
Other Signs: Sudden death, swollen tissues (combs, wattles) and discolored.

Hemorrhages in the proventilus papilla and buttom like ulser in the small intestine is the distinctive feature of Newcastle disease.
