    1. Clinical and Field Diagnostic tools:

Physical examination – Checking birds for symptoms like ruffled feathers, abnormal droppings, labored breathing, and lethargy.

Post-Mortem Examination – Examining dead birds for lesions, organ abnormalities, and parasites.

Fecal examination (Microscopy) – Identifies intestinal parasites (e.g., coccidia, worms).

Swabs and smears – Collecting throat, cloacal, or organ samples for microscopy and culture.

Blood sampling – Evaluating for anemia, infections, and immune responses.

    2. Laboratory and advanced diagnostic tools:

Bacterial culture and sensitivity testing – Identifies bacterial infections and determines the best antibiotics.

Serology test – Detect antibodies to diseases like Newcastle Disease (ND), Infectious Bursal Disease (IBD), and Avian Influenza (AI).

    ELISA (Enzyme-Linked Immunosorbent Assay)

    HI (Hemagglutination Inhibition test)

PCR (Polymerase Chain Reaction – Detects DNA/RNA of pathogens like Avian Influenza and Mycoplasma.

    3. Environmental and Feed Analysis tools:

Water Quality testing – Checks for contamination, pH balance, and microbial load.

Feed Analysis – Assesses nutritional balance and possible toxins (e.g., mycotoxins).

Air Quality Monitoring – Evaluates ammonia, carbon dioxide, and dust levels in the poultry house.

    4. Imaging tools:

Ultrasound and X-ray – Used in some cases for reproductive or skeletal issues.

Infrared Thermography – Detects heat stress and inflammation.

    5. Digital and Smart diagnostic tools:

Sensors – Monitor temperature, movement, and health parameters, to predict disease outbreaks based on behavioral and production data.

These tests, such as ELISA (Enzyme-Linked Immunosorbent Assay), are used to detect antibodies or antigens in blood samples, helping identify diseases like avian influenza or Newcastle disease

In poultry diagnostics, valuable tools include necropsy, serological testing, and molecular diagnostics like PCR, which helps in identifying pathogens and monitoring flock health
