Nutrient deficiencies in poultry can manifest as various symptoms, including poor growth, ruffled feathers, decreased egg production, bone abnormalities, and general ill-health, depending on the specific nutrient deficiency.

The signs of nutrient deficiencies can vary a lot depending on the deficient nutrient. There are well-established symptoms for the deficiency of each nutrient, however, some generalities for symptoms likely include looking unthrifty, lethargic appearance, ambulatory issues, feathering issues, and reduced productive efficiency (i.e., growth or reproductive performance). Most of these symptoms can be confused with many other maladies and infectious pathologies; however, fever, diarrhea, and vomiting are usually not associated with nutrient deficiencies.
