Water accumulation in a bird’s bottom, often referred to as “vent gleet” or “vent prolapse,” can be caused by several factors. Here are some common causes:

    1. Dehydration

    • Insufficient Water Intake: If birds are not drinking enough water, they may not be able to properly digest food, leading to excess moisture accumulation.

    2. Dietary Issues

    • High Moisture Content in Feed: A diet that is too high in moisture can lead to excessive droppings and moisture accumulation.
    • Imbalanced Nutrition: Deficiencies in certain nutrients, such as fiber, can affect digestion and waste elimination.

    3. Infections

    • Bacterial or Fungal Infections: Infections can cause inflammation and abnormal discharge, leading to moisture accumulation around the vent area.

    4. Parasites

    • Internal Parasites: Infestations by worms or other parasites can lead to digestive disturbances and excessive droppings.

    5. Health Conditions

    • Kidney Issues: Renal problems can lead to abnormal water retention and fluid accumulation.
    • Digestive Disorders: Conditions like diarrhea can cause excess moisture to accumulate around the vent.

    6. Stress

    • Environmental Stress: Factors such as heat stress or overcrowding can lead to digestive upset and increased droppings.

    7. Vent Prolapse

    • Physical Issues: In some cases, the vent itself may prolapse, leading to visible swelling and moisture around the area.

    Conclusion

If you notice water accumulation in a bird’s bottom, it’s important to assess the bird’s overall health and consult a veterinarian for a proper diagnosis and treatment. Early intervention can help prevent more serious health issues.Water accumulation in a bird’s bottom, often referred to as “vent gleet” or “vent prolapse,” can be caused by several factors. Water accumulating in a 38 weeks old bird’s bottom, also known as ascites or water belly and is usually caused by a problem with the bird’s circulatory system, specifically the heart and lungs, not keeping up with the bird’s rapid growth. This leads to increased blood pressure and fluid leaking into the abdominal cavity. Factors like low oxygen levels, high altitude, poor ventilation, and certain dietary imbalances can also contribute to the condition.

we can have different factor, Health issues like diarrhea-loose or watery dropping can cause water to accumulate around the vent area

we can also have environmental factors like high humidity

Dietary factors like poor nutrition, stress and age.
