To care for day-old chicks, set up a warm, safe brooder with chick starter feed and water, ensuring the temperature is 95°F (35°C) and then gradually reduced weekly. Dip their beaks in water to teach them to drink, use safe bedding like large pine shavings, and monitor them to make sure they are warm, eating, drinking, and not hiding in the heat

Effective brooding management requires focusing on warmth, hygiene, feed and water access, and monitoring. Prepare the brooder in advance, maintaining a starting temperature of about \(35^{\circ }C\) (\(95^{\circ }F\)) and lowering it by \(5^{\circ }C\) each week. Ensure constant access to fresh food and water, provide proper ventilation and dry litter, and observe chick behavior to make necessary adjustments

Care of DOC started at the time of pull out from the Hatcher machine. Gently & properly handling of DOC during boxing, vaccination, grading is very crucial. The chicks holding room temperature should be 70-80 F with proper ventilation. DOC transportation is also important & need special care to reduce stress and transit mortality. After arrival at the farm, need necessary care.

To care for day-old chicks, keep them warm at 95°F using a heat lamp or plate, provide fresh lukewarm water with electrolytes, and offer a starter chick feed on a flat surface for easy access. Ensure the brooder is draft-free but well-ventilated, use paper towel or pine shaving bedding, and check on the chicks frequently to ensure they are eating and drinking.

It is of much more importance to take care of day old chicks.

Journey of take care starts with pre-heating of the house.

Adequate supply of feed and fresh drinking water.

    Temperature and humidity monitoring.

Crop fill assessment within first 24 hours.

    Chick behaviour.

    Keep the house illuminated
