Key equipment in a feed mill includes grinders (hammer mills) for particle size reduction, mixers for blending ingredients, pellet mills (ring/flat die) to compress mash, coolers to remove moisture, and packing machines.
-
The key equipment in a feed milling plant can be divided into core processing machinery and supporting systems, which work together to convert raw materials into finished feed.
-
1- Hammer Mill / Roller Mill: For grinding raw materials and reducing particle size.
2- Mixer (Horizontal or Vertical): To blend ingredients into a homogenous mash.
3- Conditioner: Utilizes steam to treat the feed and enhance digestibility prior to pelleting.
4- Pellet Mill: Compresses the mash into solid pellets (or an Extruder for floating/sinking fish feed).
5- Cooler: Reduces the temperature and moisture of pellets to ensure stability and shelf life.
6- Crumbler: Used to break larger pellets into smaller fragments for young animals/fry.
7- Sifter / Screening Machine: Removes dust and undersized particles (fines) from the final product.
8- Bagging Scale: For accurate weighing and packaging of the finished feed.
