During winter, lighting replaces lost daylight, stabilizes production, supports feeding behavior, and keeps poultry healthy and productive despite cold conditions.

lighting helps maintain normal feeding, growth, and egg production when natural daylight is short.

In winter, lighting is crucial in poultry management to counteract shorter days, stimulating egg production (14-16 hours for layers), regulating feeding/sleep cycles, boosting growth (broilers), and reducing stress/aggression, often by adding artificial morning light (warm-toned LEDs) to maintain consistent photoperiods, ensuring activity, health, and consistent productivity despite the cold, notes Facebook.
