Quality and Principle:Ensure proper nutrient balance,Uniform mixing and correct pellet size and animal contamination
Handling and Storge:Keep feed dry, cooled, ventilated, and protected from pests and moisture

Store feed dry, cool and sealed (moisture <12–14%), rotate stock (FIFO), monitor temperature/moisture and inspect for pests or mold to prevent spoilage and mycotoxins.
Handle carefully to avoid segregation and dust, keep storage clean and ventilated, use pallets/covered bins for finished feed, and maintain records for traceability and safety. -
Proper storage of feed ingredients and finished feed is vital for maintaining nutritional quality and preventing economic losses caused by spoilage, pests, or contamination. To achieve high quality, storage facilities must carefully regulate environmental conditions such as temperature, moisture (ideally below 12%), and ventilation to prevent mold growth and mycotoxin production. Effective handling principles include the “First-In, First-Out” (FIFO) inventory system to maintain freshness and the use of specialized infrastructure, such as elevated silos or climate-controlled warehouses, to deter rodents and birds. Finished feeds should be kept in cool, dry areas and stored off the floor on pallets to prevent moisture absorption, while sensitive ingredients like vitamins and oils need protection from direct sunlight and oxidation to avoid rancidity.
