There is no “best antibiotic” for pullorum disease.

    Why?

Pullorum is caused by Salmonella pullorum.

Treatment with antibiotics is not recommended because birds become carriers and keep spreading the disease.

    MSD Veterinary Manual

What is done instead (best practice):

    Culling (removal) of infected birds

    Strict biosecurity

    Use disease-free chicks/hatchery

    About antibiotics (only temporary use):

Some drugs like Amoxicillin or Ampicillin may reduce symptoms, but do not cure or eliminate carries.
