Virtual Seminar (LIVE): U.S. Soybeans and Sorghum as Key Partners in Poultry Nutrition

The Soy Excellence Center of the Americas invites you to attend this virtual seminar (LIVE) where you will have the opportunity to listen to and ask questions of internationally renowned experts, Dr. Mireille Argulles-Ramos and Florentino Lopez, about the importance of U.S. Soybeans and Sorghum in formulating diets for poultry and other key species in human nutrition.

Instructor Bio

Dra. Mireille Argulles-Ramos

Dr. Argulles-Ramos obtained her bachelor's and master's degrees in Animal Industries from the University of Puerto Rico, Mayagüez Campus, and a Ph.D. in Animal and Poultry Science and Physiology from North Carolina State University. She is a poultry nutritionist with 14 years of experience in formulating commercial and experimental poultry feed. Dr. Argulles-Ramos served as a technical manager for animal nutrition companies, such as ADM and Novus International, Inc., for Puerto Rico and North America. Additionally, she worked as an Assistant Professor and Researcher at the University of Puerto Rico - Mayagüez. In 2018, Dr. Argulles-Ramos joined the faculty of the Department of Animal and Veterinary Sciences at Clemson University, where she teaches undergraduate and graduate courses and developed an applied poultry research program that evaluates alternative ingredients, focusing on sorghum as a functional feed for poultry.

Florentino Lopez
Florentino Lopez currently works as an independent agricultural consultant at Creando Mañana Agricultural Consulting. Creando Mañana is an agricultural consulting firm that addresses the needs of individuals and companies seeking a new perspective, in-depth review, and the opportunity to create groundbreaking approaches that result in significant changes. As a consultant, he helps promote sorghum and other agricultural products both nationally and internationally by facilitating direct product sales, building relationships between companies, and sharing technical information. Additionally, Florentino has worked to develop new businesses and strategies to assist the agricultural supply chain. Before this role, Florentino served as the executive director of the United Sorghum Checkoff Program, a farmer-funded organization dedicated to improving the sorghum industry through research, promotion, and education on a national and international level.
