The Soy Excellence Center (SEC) - MENA presents its “87th Aquaculture Production Training Program on Farmed Fish Feed Extrusion Technology, Feed Storage and Handling " held virtually on Wednesday, April 16th, 2025, at 12:45 PM Cairo Time. This program focuses on equipping aquaculture professionals with essential knowledge on recent Farmed Fish Feed Extrusion Technology, Feed Storage and Handling
Key sessions include an overview of aquaculture and Fish Feed production in Egypt by Prof. Salah Mesalhy, followed by a presentation on Farmed Fish Feed Extrusion Technology by Prof. Osama Kaddour. Dr. Ahmed Hamza addresses the Importance of Feed additives in Aquaculture Production (Current & Future)
Current Application and Potential use of Fermented Soy in Fish Feed Formulation is discussed by Dr. Mohamed Abou Soud, while Prof. Diaa Al-Kenawy provides practical tips and techniques to avoid common mistakes in fish farming.

Dr. Kaddour has more than 35 years experiences, in animal feed processing engineering, He has previously worked in local universities and research Centre he works at Suez University, Zagazig University and Agricultural Research Centre and International universities at the Kansas State University as visiting professor for extrusion and feed manufacture. He follows the applied education system with theoretical education in all courses he teaches. He is one of the experts in the design, construction and development of all kind of animal feed plant and factories, especially Aquatic feed factories.
Dr. Kaddour have more than 35 published articles and research, about animal feed machines and agriculture residues recycling. He worked as international consultant to international organization; Jiangsu Dehui Mechanical And Electrical Equipment Co.,Ltd.- China and alija Agriculture And Feed mill Manufacturing In Saudi Arabia, is an acting member in number of international and regional associations, in addition to his contribution as peer reviewing in international and regional journals
Dr. Ahmed Hamza
Aquaculture consultant - AQUAVET Egypt
Dr. Ahmed Hamza completed his Veterinary Medicine degree in 1996 in Kafr elsheikh Univ. Egypt. He initially managed his Family Fish farm where he acquired a solid experience in different aquaculture operations, he continued his studies in seafood safety and hygiene and had MSVs degree in the potential food poisoning bacteria in farm and market fish then he awarded the PhD degree in fish quality and hygiene 2012.He started his career as aquaculture advisor in 2005 then he founded his own Consultancy company (AQUAVET for fish nutrition and health solutions) in 2010. His activities cover different aspects of aquaculture and serving different entities including private and governmental fish farms, feed mills and Vet companies working in the aquaculture field. Organized and shared in organizing many scientific events and seminars. Guest speaker in many universities and scientific institutes, delivering lectures and training in different aspects of aquaculture and food safety for Vets, aquaculturists, fish farmers and students. Initiator of aquaculture out of the books training series in association of with Egypt Vet Syndicate transferring practical experience to new generations with special interest to fish nutrition, diseases, seafood safety and water quality. Have many published scientific papers in international and local journals. Member and consultant in many scientific projects including Newton Institutional Links grants: “Behavioral prophylaxis informing improved culture system design and management for enhanced fish health and sustainable intensification of the Egyptian tilapia industry. Whereas The field modification was designed and built by AQUAVET, which also represents some leading international aquaculture companies in Egypt.
Dr. Mohamed Abo Elsoud
Feed Processing Quality Expert-Egypt Business Unite Director, Nutrivet
Graduated from the Veterinary Medicine Faculty at Alexandria University in 1996. Dr. Mohamed is currently employed as a Feed Processing Quality Expert-Egypt Business Unit Director-Nutrivet. He has extensive knowledge in several aquaculture disciplines, as well as feed processing research and development. He has been involved in feed processing research and development. He serves as a consultant for numerous aqua feed plants in Egypt. He has spoken and lectured at aquaculture Ghana: Exploring Potential Collaboration Models for Suitable Aquaculture Development in West Africa. He spoke and lectured at several conferences and training sessions. He served on the organizing committee for the Global Sustainable Aquaculture Conference 2024. He collaborated with MSA University on the production and development of the monoglyceride form of lauric acd, which is utilized as a natural alternative to antibiotics and immunostimulants in animal feed.
He published a research on dietary alpha monolaurin for Nile tilapia in Hindawy aquaculture.
Prof. Diaa Al-Kenawy
Head of Research, CLAR, Egypt
Diaa works as Head of Research at the Central Lab for Aquaculture Research, CLAR. He currently has over 30 years of experience in aquaculture. Diaa has studied Agricultural sciences and got a PhD in aquatic toxicology 2006 and has participated in and led many research and development projects as a scientist at WorldFish (1998-2021). He is mostly concerned about environment pollution and water quality and impact on fish resources. Diaa is involved in aquaculture and fisheries training programs to teach participants how to produce more affordable and nutritious food from sustainable fish farming. He led the WorldFish Egypt’s research on fish feeds and nutrition through the Global FISH CRP and is enthusiastic of teaching farmers and student’s the best farming practices
