Yes, catfish are primarily freshwater fish and typically cannot survive in saltwater for extended periods of time. They are not equipped to regulate the salt content in their bodies as well as saltwater fish are. If placed in saltwater, catfish would likely struggle to survive due to the osmotic stress placed on their bodies. Thank you
