Reduce the daily energy consumption and increase the protein and fiber.

Early morning feeding of 60% of daily feed intake and late feeding with the remaining 40%

Regulating feed intake during heat stress is crucial to maintain animal health and productivity. Here are strategies to manage feed intake effectively:

    1. Optimize Feeding Schedule

Feed animals during cooler parts of the day, such as early morning or late evening, when they are more likely to consume feed.

Reduce feeding during the hottest hours of the day to minimize heat production from digestion.

    2. Adjust Diet Composition

Increase energy density: Use high-energy feeds (e.g., fats) to meet energy requirements without increasing feed volume.

Use high-quality forages: Avoid low-quality roughages that generate more heat during digestion.

Balance protein: Ensure adequate but not excessive protein to reduce metabolic heat production.

Add electrolytes: Include sodium, potassium, and bicarbonates to support electrolyte balance and reduce heat stress.

    3. Improve Feed Palatability

Add molasses or other flavor enhancers to improve feed intake.

Ensure fresh feed and avoid spoiled or moldy feed, as animals are less likely to consume it in heat.

    4. Provide Adequate Water

Ensure a continuous supply of clean, cool water.

Place waterers in shaded areas to maintain cooler water temperatures.

Encourage water intake by adding electrolytes or small amounts of salt to balance hydration.

    5. Use Feed Additives

Buffers: Add bicarbonates to help manage rumen pH.

Yeast or probiotics: Enhance rumen function and feed efficiency.

Betaine: Supports cellular hydration and reduces the effects of heat stress.

    6. Enhance Environmental Management

Provide shade or shelters to reduce direct heat exposure.

Use fans, sprinklers, or misters to cool the environment and increase animal comfort.

Avoid overcrowding to reduce competition for feed and water.

    7. Monitor Body Condition

Regularly assess body weight and condition to ensure the animals are maintaining adequate energy levels.

During period of heat, birds should be fed during the coolest hours. This is generally early in the morning or during the night period. During the day, feed may be restricted. Potable and cooled water should be offered to birds at all times. Remember that birds require nutrients on a grams or milligrams per day basis and not percentages. Thus, some adjustments may be needed in the feed formulation to ensure birds are consuming the appropriate amount of nutrients every day.

Selection of a broiler genetic should be based on various factors including market age of the birds, whether they are going to be sold live or as process birds. If the carcass is going to be use as whole, for pieces, or deboned for packaging or further processing into links, sausages, or other products. Each genetic line has a detail guide for production with expected growth performance and processing results that should be carefully reviewed. Also consider the logistics of procuring newly hatched chicks for rearing. Finally, it is always good to consult with local experts and growers with experience about their recommendations for a genetic line.

you need to feed them early morning and nights you can also improve the nutrients by increasing energy and crude protein in their diet.

avoid feeding them during day time and make sure the birds have access to cool water always during the day.

    you can also add vitamin c in their water as vitamin c ;

Enhances immune response, combating heat-related infections.

Helps mitigate heat stress, promoting homeostasis.

    Aids in regulating body temperature.

Neutralizes free radicals, reducing oxidative stress.

    |Feeding them early in the morning and late evening is the best strategy during heat.

and make sure there is water readily available

Ensure that you feed the birds in the morning and evening. And make sure water is readily available. You can add vitamin C to their water as well
