Both mash and crumble will give the same result provided that they are both formulated to meet the requirements of the birds at their specific age

Layers can also go on pellet feed too.

These categories of feed sizes mash, crumble or pellet has advantages over other.

Pellet doesn’t have powder at the bottom like crumble and mash. A single pellet has all the essential ingredients a feed has unlike other sizes of feed with powder at the bottom.

In mash and crumble, birds picked the coarse or big material first and leave the powdery form, and this powdery has the essential micro and macro properties of feed which the birds require..

In practice, I have used a particular brand of feed that has the 3 categories but the crumble tends to perform far better than mash and pellet.

Currently, I am using mash of a feed brand and the birds are performing excellently.

In mash, it requires frequent rubbing of feed in the feeder for proper utilization
