Pearson square method is a simple method for formulating feeds with two ingredients. It consists of
finding the ratio of the two ingredients and determining the amount needed to produce a given amount of feed. There is also an advanced level of three or more feed ingredients. -
Check your work
Ensure that the nutrient contents and requirements are expressed on the same basis
The middle value should be between the two values on the left side
Disregard any negative numbers on the right side
Double check your calculations

Calculate the percentage of each feed.
1. Add up the parts of both feeds
2. Divide each part by the sum of the parts
