In my opinion, the purpose for using soy bean will determine the main product and bye product. If the original purpose or goal is to get cake, then other things, though useful will be referred to as bye product. In short, any produce gotten (though useful) that is not part of the original purpose for processing is referred to as bye product.

Soybean can be considered both as a product and a byproduct of soybean oil production. Soybean oil is extracted from soybeans as a primary product, while the remaining solid material, such as soybean meal, can be considered a byproduct. Soybean meal is commonly used as a protein-rich feed ingredient in poultry diets, making it an important component of the poultry industry.
