The challenges of any precision livestock farming technology can be generalized to initial and maintenance cost, staff, training, implementation, and action plans. There are many technologies currently available, most of them require continuous, fast, reliable internet access as well as smart electronic devices (like smartphones, tables, and computer terminals) to receive the information. Once an alert is triggered, it is important to have defined action plans including properly trained staff with the knowledge to decisively intervene to resolve foreseeable situations as well as the ability to immediately contact other in the company to elucidate an action plan.
