Treatment Protocol for Brooder Pneumonia (Aspergillosis)

    1. Improve Environment & Biosecurity

Remove moldy feed and litter: Discard any contaminated feed, bedding, or materials.

Disinfect the brooder house: Use fungicides like 1–2% sodium hypochlorite, copper sulfate, or formaldehyde fumigation (only in empty houses).

Improve ventilation: Ensure proper airflow to reduce humidity and fungal spore buildup.

Use fresh bedding: Avoid damp or moldy litter.

    2. Antifungal Treatment

Copper sulfate (0.1%) in drinking water for 5–7 days.

Nystatin (if available) in feed or water at recommended doses.

Itraconazole or Voriconazole (for high-value birds, under veterinary supervision).

Amphotericin B (in severe cases, for individual high-value birds).

    3. Supportive Therapy

Vitamin A & E supplements: Help with respiratory and immune system support.

Electrolytes and probiotics: Strengthen gut health and immunity.
