Oyster shells offer an affordable, slow-released source of calcium. Limestone grit is an exceptional source of calcium. Similar to oyster shells, limestone grit is easily absorbable. Eggshells are an efficient source of calcium but require thorough drying and crushing.

The most suitable time for calcium supplementation in broiler breeder houses during laying is late afternoon to evening, aligning calcium availability with nighttime eggshell formation. This strategy helps improve shell quality, prevent depletion of bone calcium, and support long-term laying performance. The most suitable time for calcium supplementation in broiler breeder houses during laying is late afternoon to evening, aligning calcium availability with nighttime eggshell formation. Calcium supplements like egg shell 49,liquid calcium are best used during the second laying phases in Broiler breeders house.Precisely 50weeks upward .

Calcium can also be supplemented during heat period when the calcium intake is subnormal.

always track what bird needs and what are you offering through feed if necessary, then supplement; otherwise, there are many other factors that could also cause shell issues.

For broiler chickens, calcium supplementation is crucial during all phases of their growth, but the specific timing and amount should be adjusted based on their age and development stage. Younger chicks (starter phase) need less calcium than older birds, and requirements increase as they grow and develop their skeletal structure.

This question is about usage of calcium supplementation during laying phase in breeder flock.

Which type of calcium supplementation is necessary at peak laying phase and at what time either in the day (right at the time of feeding) or afternoon or even during the evening time.

what is the suitable time for offering of calcium supplementation
