You will need to do a lot of flushing after milling for each species

We can manage it by having regular cleaning and sanitation, labelling and identification of ingredients and separation of ingredients

always ensure the bin is totally empty of the previous work done before a start of a new production.

Managing cross-contamination risks in a multi-species feed mill requires a combination of good manufacturing practices (GMPs), sanitation protocols, and operational controls. Here are some strategies:

    Design and Layout

1.Dedicated production lines: Designate separate production lines for each species or feed type.

2.Physical barriers: Use physical barriers, such as walls or partitions, to separate production areas.

    Cleaning and Sanitation

1.Regular cleaning schedules: Establish regular cleaning schedules for equipment, production areas, and storage facilities.

2.Sanitation protocols: Develop and implement sanitation protocols for equipment and production areas.

3.Cleaning and sanitation verification: Verify the effectiveness of cleaning and sanitation protocols.

    Operational Controls

1.Segregation of ingredients: Segregate ingredients by species or feed type to prevent cross-contamination.

    2. Dedicated equipment: Use dedicated equipment for each species or feed type.

    3. Sequential production: Produce feeds sequentially, cleaning and sanitizing equipment between production runs.

    4. Labeling and identification: Label and identify feeds and ingredients to prevent mix-ups.

    Training and Awareness

    1. Regular testing: for contaminants, such as allergens or pathogen.

    2. Verification of controls: verify the effectiveness of cross-contamination control measures.

After adoption of All above points there will be a chance of cross Contamination of feed ingredients in feed mill but with these points if could be minimized and tries to make production in an order that cross Contamination of feed does not effect the other species.

To prevent this, Wash hands with soap and hot water before and after handling food, and after using the bathroom, changing diapers or handling pets.
