To eliminate darkling beetles from a litter and shed, use a multi-pronged approach focusing on physical, chemical, and cultural controls. Regularly clean out and remove old litter, dry out the litter, and vacuum or manually remove beetles from the shed to physically reduce numbers

Darkling beetles are dangerous for the poultry indirectly as well as directly which reduces production efficiency of the bird.
We strictly follow alternative insecticide program.
Cravices should be eliminated from the house.
Litter moisture must be addressed.

To eliminate darkling beetles, I first focus on prevention by maintaining clean, dry litter and sealing cracks where beetles hide. I practice strict biosecurity and remove feed spills and old litter. I treat the shed and litter with approved insecticides or diatomaceous earth, and monitor beetle activity regularly using traps. In some cases, biological control with beneficial nematodes can also be applied. This integrated approach keeps the beetle population under control and protects the flock.
