The main sources of income for a poultry farm include:
-
Sale of eggs: This is a primary revenue stream for layer farms, with the number of eggs sold directly influencing profits. Eggs are in high demand year-round in many markets.
-
Sale of poultry meat: Broiler farms generate income mainly from the sale of live birds or processed chicken meat. Both small-scale and large commercial farms benefit from selling chickens for meat.
-
Sale of by-products: Additional revenues come from selling feathers, poultry manure (which is valuable as organic fertilizer), and empty feed or gunny bags. These by-products may provide a supplementary income, especially for larger farms.
-
Sale of culls: Older or less productive hens and birds can be sold for meat once their egg-laying capacity declines, contributing further to farm income.

Egg sales, Cull bird sales and miscellaneous sales
