Lots of factors can come into play when you notice a drop in production of laying birds;
Hours of daylight (photoperiodism). 16hrs of light needed per day for optimum productivity.
Poor nutrition either due to use of bad raw materials or omission of some raw materials or additives or even as minute as change in brand of additives. Layers are very sensitive to changes in theIr diets.
Sudden change in brand of feed or feed formula. Change needs to systematic and gradual.
Presence of diseases or parasites like worms
Adverse weather conditions such as too low or too high atmospheric temperature.
Presence of predators or pets.
Presence of biofilms in water lines and water reservoirs.
Inadequate water supply.
Use of certain medications.
Etc.
