The thickness of the shell depends on Genetics, Diet, Age of the flock, Environmental factors, Storage and Handling. You will have to check and correlate with all the above parameters to gather cues to your eggshell thickness issue.

If your eggshells aren’t getting thinner, that generally indicates the shells are maintaining their strength, which is positive.

If eggshells aren’t getting thinner despite various efforts, consider reviewing factors such as calcium intake, lighting conditions, and overall bird health. Ensure that the hens are receiving a balanced diet rich in minerals, particularly calcium and vitamin D. Additionally, check for stressors in the environment that may affect eggshell quality.

If your chickens’ eggshells aren’t thinning despite your efforts, it could be due to a few factors, including genetics, the hen’s age, or nutritional imbalances.
