Poultry feed often includes high protein levels, non-ruminant-specific additives, and sometimes ionophores (like monensin or salinomycin), which are toxic to cows. Additionally, poultry feed lacks the fiber essential for rumen function, which can lead to digestive issues such as acidosis and bloating in cattle. Instead, cows should be fed a properly balanced ruminant diet with adequate fiber, energy, and minerals suited to their digestive system
