One thing is certain, Broiler FCR is preferred when less than 1.8. Anything around 1.6 is very profitable
-
I think the FCR of these birds should be considered based on their relative purpose
-
What is poultry?
What is broilers?
Let’s not get confused.
Did you mean layer vs broiler feed conversions? -
The question is specific on the side of broilers but then poultry is a general term that includes even the broilers

The conventionally recommended feed rate for poultry birds is around 0.12 lbs of feed per day per bird, while for broilers it is around 0.20 to 0.25 lbs of feed per day per bird. These rates are based on standard feeding practices to ensure optimal growth and performance of the birds. The conventionally recommended feed rate for poultry birds is around 0.12 lbs of feed per day per bird, while for broilers it is around 0.20 to 0.25 lbs of feed per day per bird. Layers parent stock are fed with a purpose of high egg production, egg quality and egg size, while broilers are fed for the purpose of meat and weight gained. comparing their fcr wouldn’t be fair since they are both for different purposes. its like comparing the fcr of dairy cattle with meat purpose cattle, their genetic modification is engineered differently.
