    Hello there.

In practical sense, analyzing amino acid profile in raw materials is important- because animals do not necessarily have a requirement for “Crude Protein”, instead, they have a requirement for specific amino acids. Providing an accurate nutrient amino acid profile can help nutritionists formulate feeds that provide the closest to the requirement of the animal, avoiding excess amino acids in the feeds. This could translate to reduced feed cost, better feed quality, less ammonia production (sustainable and environmentally sound), and better animal performance.

In meat- I am not sure, but in practice, we do regular weighing to monitor that feed intake is translated to gain in weight and that includes utilization of said amino acids.

This is a good reply from Argie. Each species and each age group within the species has a specific amino acid requirement that fulfills the protein requirement.
