Pellet quality is mainly affected by raw material properties and conditioning (moisture, particle size, binders, fat content) which determine pelletability and durability.
Operational factors—conditioning temperature/time, steam addition, die design & condition, compression/roll pressure, and cooling/drying—plus proper storage and handling, complete the chain affecting PDI and fines.
