There are many innovative feed delivery mechanisms in poultry feed automation
1.Automated chain & auger feeding systems
2.silo & hopper system
3.Automated feed pans and troughs
4.IoT & Data-Driven feed management

Feed automation utilizes technologies like servo motors, IoT sensors, and SCADA systems to deliver precise and consistent amounts of feed, minimizing waste and optimizing bird health and growth, with real-time monitoring and control.

Automated feeding systems have many advantages including the ability to feed thousands of birds with the flip of a switch, lower labor cost for feeding, constant supply of feed to birds, and computerized systems capable to deliver or withheld feed as specified. Think about the ability to withheld feed during the hotter hours of the day during the hot months of the year and being able at the same time to provide a night feeding to the birds when the temperatures are cooler. This type of feeding protocols can be easier to implement with automated systems rather than manual systems. Many automatic feeding systems have sensors that detect low presence of feed in the feeder trough and are also able to shut-off automatically when enough feed is available to the birds. Some of the disadvantages is a high cost of purchase and installation, dependance on electricity and the need to have a generator plant for power outages (this should not be an issue if mechanical ventilation is used at the farm), availability of maintenance and repair personnel, and the need to have an inventory of parts at the farm to quickly fix the system when failed so birds are not without feed for hours or days.

Automated feeding system:
Is a technology-driven solution designed to deliver feed efficiently, reduce wastage and ensure uniform nutrition distribution. These systems help improve bird growth, optimize feed conversion ratios (FCR) and reduce labor costs.
