At 40 weeks of age in poultry, specifically laying hens or mature birds, the recommended feeding space per bird is generally around 10 cm (about 4 inches) of linear feeder space per bird. This corresponds to mature bird’s feeding needs to ensure they have equal access to feed simultaneously, minimizing competition.

A 10ft x 12ft would work. There are a lot of factors to consider. The “rule of thumb” people often use for a hen house is one foot of roost space per chicken. I find mine huddle up in groups and use about 6 inches each while leaving big open spaces.

The feeding should solely depend on quality rather than quantity at this point. The required nutrients for laying healthy eggs should be the focus

At 40 weeks of pregnancy, a woman’s body is naturally prepared for labor and delivery, not for feeding space. The focus is on the baby’s development and the mother’s overall well-being. There is no specific “feeding space” requirement at this stage; instead, a healthy, balanced diet and adequate hydration are crucial.
