In pattern grading for female garments, the amount to be graded (increased or decreased) at different points depends on the specific garment style, the desired size range, and the grading rules established by the company. Generally, chest, waist, and hip circumferences are graded by a consistent increment (e.g., 2 inches or 5cm) between sizes, while other measurements like shoulder width, armhole depth, and neck circumference are graded proportionally.

In female grading, typically, a score of 1 to 4 (or sometimes 1 to 5) is used to grade embryos. A grade of 1 is generally considered the best, with higher numbers indicating less desirable features. For example, in cleavage-stage embryo grading, the number of cells and their appearance under a microscope are evaluated. Good, normal-growing Day 3 embryos generally have between 6 and 10 cells.
