Guar meal (a by-product of guar gum processing) is a high-protein feed ingredient (40–50% CP) and can be an economical alternative in poultry diets.
1. Presence of anti-nutritional factors
2. Poor palatability
3. Increased wet droppings
4. Reduced performance in broilers and layers
5. Nutrient imbalance
6. Processing requirement

Guar meal contains β-mannan, which can interfere with nutrient absorption and digestion, leading to reduced feed efficiency

It has very high level of beta-mannans, which cause intestinal irritation, increased digesta viscosity, reduced nutrient digestibility, and it is likely to reduce the growth performance of birds very high level of beta-mannans, which cause intestinal irritation, increased digesta viscosity, reduced nutrient digestibility, and it is likely to reduce the growth performance of birds

Guar meal contains very high level of beta-mannans, which cause intestinal irritation, increased digesta viscosity, reduced nutrient digestibility, and it is likely to reduce the growth performance of birds. If guar meal is included in the diet it should be at low levels and the inclusion of a beta-mannanase enzyme in the diet is highly encouraged to reduce the anti-nutritional effects of guar gum in chickens.

Coz some 15 years before our technical director used it in formulation, esp as a premix carrier and also inclusive of formulation, but now adays not at all any where.. is it cause intestinal choking?
