Training and education are crucial for improving biosecurity practices in feed production. By equipping employees with the knowledge and skills to implement and maintain these practices, risks associated with disease outbreaks and contamination are significantly reduced. This ensures the safety of feed and the health of animals, ultimately contributing to more profitable and sustainable agricultural operations.

Training and education can improve biosecurity practices in feed production by equipping staff with knowledge on proper protocols, procedures, and best practices, enabling them to identify and mitigate potential biosecurity risks.

Training exposes the concerned people to body of knowledge. This removes ignorance about the consequences of actions and inactions of people trusted with responsibilities. In the long run, it helps everyone to sit up and do right things without delay or procrastinating.

HOW CAN TRAINING AND EDUCATION IMPROVE BIOSECURITY PRACTICES IN FEED PRODUCTION?
Published by the International Feed Industry Federation, the ‘Biosecurity Guidance For Feed Mills’ guide outlines best management practice, including staff training (page 18) – https://soyexcellence.org/download/biosecurity-guidance-for-feed-mills-2/
These standards set the minimum requirements for a feed mill, however there may be additional practices required by customers that will need to be negotiated between the parties as to extra or higher standards being applied.
