    · .

Common infectious diseases affecting poultry include:

    1. Avian Influenza: Symptoms can vary from mild signs like decreased egg production to severe respiratory distress. Diagnosis involves laboratory testing of samples like swabs or blood.

    2. Newcastle Disease: Signs include respiratory distress, nervous system disorders, and sudden death. Diagnosis requires laboratory tests on affected tissues or blood samples.

    3. Infectious Bronchitis: Symptoms consist of respiratory signs, decreased egg production, and poor egg quality. Laboratory tests on respiratory secretions or tissues are used for identification.

    4. Avian Infectious Coryza: Clinical signs involve swollen heads, difficulty breathing, and facial swelling. Isolation and identification of the causative bacteria are done in a laboratory setting.

    5. Marek’s Disease: Manifestations include tumors, paralysis, and irregular growth. Diagnosis often involves post-mortem examination and laboratory tests on affected tissues.

    6. Fowl Cholera: Symptoms comprise sudden death, respiratory issues, and swollen wattles. Isolation and identification of the bacteria Pasteurella multocida are crucial for diagnosis.

    7. Coccidiosis: Signs involve decreased growth, diarrhea, and blood in the droppings. Identification is through fecal examination for the presence of coccidia oocysts.
