I think what he is making enquiry about is what does poor preventative maintenance mean.

The question is not clear enough, but I think it’s a way we can manage the litters in the Poultry pen to minimize spread of diseases.

Hello, when you mention unplanned monitoring, I don’t think it typically exists in a structured operation like a feed mill. Monitoring is usually routine (regular checks) or occasional (periodic inspections based on need), both of which should be preplanned for efficiency. However, unexpected monitoring may sometimes be necessary in cases of sudden machine failures, raw material issues, or safety concerns to prevent major disruptions.

Regarding low monitoring, this usually means that only a small team oversees operations while machines handle most of the work, requiring minimal supervision. However, even in highly automated feed mills, human oversight remains crucial for quality control, troubleshooting, and ensuring smooth operations.

I just realized that you were referring was to Poultry management and disease control. In that case, I still don’t think that the concept of unplanned monitoring exists in poultry disease management. Monitoring should either be routine (regular health checks and biosecurity measures) or occasional (triggered by specific concerns like unusual symptoms or disease outbreaks). Proper planning is essential to prevent disease outbreaks, which can lead to significant losses, especially when birds are at critical production stages.

As for low monitoring, this typically means minimal human intervention; such as occasional observation, while relying on automated systems, biosecurity measures, and general flock behavior to indicate health issues. However, even in low-monitoring systems, periodic checks remain crucial to detect early signs of disease and prevent widespread infections.

Preventive maintenance the performing regularly scheduled check and maintenance activities to help prevent unexpected machine breakdown in the future.
