the amount of energy available to a bird from its feed after accounting for the energy lost in feces and urine, essentially the usable energy that can be used for growth, egg production, and other bodily functions, calculated by subtracting the gross energy of the excreta from the gross energy of the feed consumed.

Metabolizable energy is a measure of the energy available to Poultry from their feed , after accounting for losses due to digestion , absorption, and excretion

1. Apparent Metabolisable Energy (AME): Total energy intake minus energy lost in feces and urine.
2. True Metabolisable Energy (TME): Adjusted AME, accounting for endogenous losses (energy lost from internal metabolic processes).
3. Nitrogen-Corrected Apparent Metabolisable Energy (AMEn): AME adjusted for nitrogen balance, making it more accurate for comparing different feed ingredients.
