Soybean meal generally has a slightly higher moisture content compared to canola or rapeseed meal due to the inherent differences in the oil extraction process, where soybean processing often involves a “low-temperature” extraction method which can result in a slightly higher residual moisture level in the final meal compared to the higher temperature extraction used in canola/rapeseed processing; this is not necessarily a processing issue, but rather a characteristic of the different oil extraction techniques used.
