While water is often considered the most crucial because birds can’t survive long without it, energy (carbohydrates/fats) and protein (specifically essential amino acids like methionine and lysine) are the primary drivers of growth and production, with energy usually needed in the largest quantity for overall consumption, followed by precise amino acid balance for tissue building. No single nutrient stands alone; poultry needs a complete, balanced diet with adequate protein, energy, vitamins, minerals, and water to thrive.
