To observe a PLC fault, primarily check the PLC’s diagnostic indicators, error messages displayed on the screen, and status LEDs to identify any fault codes or abnormal behavior

Observing PLC (Programmable Logic Controller) faults simultaneously requires real-time monitoring and diagnostics. Here’s how you can do it effectively:
1. Use the PLC’s HMI or SCADA System
Most PLCs are integrated with an HMI (Human-Machine Interface) or SCADA (Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition) system that displays real-time faults.
Configure the HMI to show alarm logs and active fault indicators.
2. Monitor PLC LED Indicators
Most PLCs have LED indicators on the CPU module to show error states.
Common indicators:
RUN/STOP LED – Shows if the PLC is in operation or stopped due to a fault.
FAULT LED – Lights up when there is a system error.

This is good question and here start by checking the input devices, such as sensors and switches. Ensure they are correctly wired and functioning as expected. Testing these devices with a multimeter can help identify faulty input components.
