Signs of poor egg quality include difficulty conceiving, irregular menstrual cycles, recurrent miscarriages, and low hormone levels, particularly low AMH (anti-Mullerian hormone) and FSH (follicle-stimulating hormone).

The most common egg problems as a result of disease are pale egg yolks, runny egg whites, and rough egg issues. Infectious bronchitis (IB), Infectious laryngotracheitis (ILT), and Newcastle disease (NDV), are normally all vaccinated against by egg farmers and pullet growers.

External Signs
1. Thin or Weak Shells – Shells that crack easily indicate calcium deficiency or poor hen health.
2. Shell Deformities – Wrinkled, rough, or misshapen eggs may be due to stress, disease, or nutritional deficiencies.
3. Discoloration – Uneven pigmentation or off-color shells may indicate health issues in the hen.
Internal Signs
4. Watery Egg Whites (Albumen) – High-quality eggs have thick, firm whites, while poor eggs have thin, watery whites.
5. Pale or Off-Colored Yolks – Healthy yolks are deep yellow or orange. Pale yolks suggest poor diet or old eggs.
6. Blood or Meat Spots – Small red or brown spots inside the egg could indicate issues in egg formation or hen health.
7. Off Odors – Rotten or sulfur-like smells indicate spoilage or bacterial contamination.
