Feeding Strategies for Layers
Proper feeding ensures high egg production and bird health. Layers require:
Starter feed (0–6 weeks): High protein (18-20%) for growth.
Grower feed (6–18 weeks): Moderate protein (15-17%) to prevent excess fat.
Layer feed (18 weeks+): Calcium-rich (3.5-4%) for strong eggshells.
Provide clean water, essential nutrients, and 14-16 hours of light for optimal production.

Consistent access to feed is crucial, as it keeps their energy levels steady, which they need for continuous egg laying. Furthermore, we should remember that hens should consume 40% of their feed in the morning and 60% in the afternoon.
