Biosecurity, great husbandry, excellent nutrition, and prophylaxis with vaccines are the best methods to prevent the incidence and severity of diseases. The preeminent practice of using antibiotics in the absence of diagnosed bacterial diseases needs to stop because contributes to antibiotic resistance. Then, antibiotics will be ineffective during a bacterial disease outbreak and the health, productive, and economic consequences will be devastating.

This includes strengthening biosecurity measures, implementing robust disease prevention strategies, and optimizing management practices like nutrition and flock health monitoring.
