Feeding programme should be in cooling hours early morning and late evening. We may increase the K.cal in feed (Because of less feed intake – we have to give higher energy diet)
-
Withdrawing feed from the birds six hours before peak warm temperatures in the afternoon can lower the risk of heat stress.

During hot weather, feed birds in the early hour of the morning preferably 3-4am, so by 10am they must have done eating. Provision of cool water is what is needed till the next feeding in the evening by 6pm. Make provision of lighting so they can eat.
Other supplements like, vitamin C Ascorbic acid, multivitamin with electrolytes, liver tonic are all essential during hot period to prevent heat stress
-
Feed as early as possible when the temperature will be low, avoid feeding in the afternoon and you can then resume feeding in the evening. Addition of Ascorbic acid to the birds’ water or feed will also help
-
we can change the diet with high protein and double the dose of vitamin and minerals
