keep vents open above the birds head. This allows moist , warm air to scape without blowing a cold draft directly onto the chickens.
-
good sealing of walls, doors, windows and allowing air inlet at one below top of side walls , air towards ceiling. so avoid direct cold to birds.
deep dry litter, homigeniius temperature in the while house

Reduce drafts and retain warmth for bird comfort.

To enhance winter insulation in poultry housing, seal all drafts and cracks, add insulation to walls/roof (out of reach), use deep, dry litter like straw for floor insulation, create elevated roosts to keep birds off the cold ground, and ensure high-level ventilation to remove moisture without creating direct cold drafts, with plastic sheeting or tarps used externally to block wind, not seal all air.

To enhance winter insulation in poultry housing, focus on sealing drafts around doors, windows, and fans with plastic or foam, applying insulation to walls/roof (using vapor barriers), using the deep litter method with thick bedding for ground insulation, and ensuring proper ventilation to remove moisture without creating direct drafts, plus safe supplemental heat and higher roosts.
