    Acid Detergent Fiber (ADF) measures the less digestible fiber components (cellulose, lignin, silica), indicating digestibility and energy content (higher ADF = lower digestibility/energy). Neutral Detergent Fiber (NDF) measures the total cell wall fiber (ADF + hemicellulose), relating to feed intake and gut fill (higher NDF = lower intake.
