Raw material contamination can be prevented through proper storage, regular quality checks, moisture control, pest management, and sourcing from reliable suppliers.

It is important to define contamination, so we know how to reply. Are we talking about contamination with pests, chemicals, physical debris like stone, dirt, sand, and metal pieces, drug residues in mixing and transportation equipment, growth of microorganisms and their products like mycotoxins, leftover particles from other ingredients, disease contamination for reusing disposable feed bags, and more? There are many types of contamination so please narrow the scope of the question. This is a great start to establish a quality control program.

To prevent cross-contamination when storing materials, use separate, clearly labeled containers for different items. Store raw materials away from finished products to avoid contamination. Implement a “first in, first out” inventory system to ensure older materials are used first.
