There are many chemicals used for fumigation, including methyl bromide, sulfuryl fluoride, phosphine, and hydrogen cyanide.

Phosphine (Aluminum or Magnesium Phosphide) ,Methyl Bromide, Hydrogen Cyanide (HCN), Sulfuryl Fluoride, Formaldehyde Gas (Paraformaldehyde or Formalin Fogging), Carbon Dioxide (CO₂)

Many substances are used as fumigants, including methyl bromide, chloropicrin and phosphine.

For Grain Storage & Warehouses:
1. Aluminum Phosphide (Phostoxin, Celphos, QuickPhos) – Effective against insects and rodents, commonly used in grain storage.
2. Magnesium Phosphide – Similar to aluminum phosphide but releases phosphine gas faster.
3. Methyl Bromide (Restricted in many countries) – Powerful but highly toxic; used for quarantine treatments.
4. Sulfuryl Fluoride (Vikane, Profume) – Alternative to methyl bromide, used for food processing facilities and wood treatment

Methyl bromide, chloropicrin, phosphine, and hydrogen cyanide. The best substance for fumigation depends on the type of enclosure and the situation being treated in the sector.
